Become a CJCA Member 2026–2027 Season
Join one of California’s premier junior rodeo associations and compete alongside athletes from across the state.
2026–2027 Important Membership & Rule Updates
Before purchasing your membership, please note the following changes for the 2026–2027 season:
• Day and weekend passes will not be offered. A current CJCA membership will be required to compete.
• Breakaway ages 15–19 will be bell-catch only. Younger breakaway divisions will remain catch-as-catch-can.
The 2026–2027 CJCA Rulebook is currently being updated to reflect these changes.
Membership Requirements
Membership Fees:
Membership is for one calendar year and must be renewed annually. For the 2026/2027 season, membership covers all rodeos from November 2026 through June 2027, aligning with our season start and end dates. The membership fee is $120 per contestant, due in full before entering any rodeo for the season.
Required Documents:
After completing the membership application, you’ll need to submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate for age verification unless it’s already on file from past years. Please email birth certificates to secretary@cjcajrrodeo.org.
2026–2027 Member List:
Review the current 2026–2027 Member List (PDF) to confirm we have your child’s birth certificate on file.
If your child’s name does not have a checkmark, please email a copy of their birth certificate to secretary@cjcajrrodeo.org.
Age Limits:
For the 2026/2027 season, members cannot be older than 19 as of January 1, 2027. Contestants’ age on this date determines their age group for the season. Contestants may move up to an older age group for all events but cannot switch age groups mid-season or move to a younger age group.
Member Eligibility:
To be a member in good standing, contestants must pay their membership fee, fulfill sponsorship requirements, and complete any volunteer obligations.
Senior Boy & Senior Girl Scholarship
CJCA is proud to announce the all new scholarship opportunity for high school senior boys & girls. One senior boy & one senior girl will be selected to receive $500 each. Scholarships will be awarded at the Year-End Awards Banquet. Include your essay and proof of GPA with your application when submitting.
Email your completed application, proof of GPA and essay to cjcascholarship@gmail.com. Or, hand it in to the rodeo office by the end of the Finals rodeo on May 23, 2027.

Scholarship Will Be Awarded at: the Year-End Awards Banquet
Eligibility:
• Must be a current High School Senior
• Must be a current CJCA member for the 2026-2027 season.
• Must Qualify & Compete in the Finals Rodeo on May 23, 2027.
• Must be planning to enroll in a college or trade school for the upcoming academic year.
• Must complete the application & essay and submit no later than May 23, 2027 (Finals Rodeo).
Eligibility Requirements for Finals & Year-End Awards
Finals Eligibility:
To qualify for the CJCA Finals Rodeo, you must be a member in good standing. This includes having paid your membership fee and meeting the $200 sponsorship requirement. Additionally, contestants must participate in at least half of the season’s rodeos plus one for each event they plan to compete in at the finals.
Year-End Awards:
To be eligible for year-end awards, contestants must fulfill all finals eligibility requirements and complete a Volunteer Requirement: CJCA members and/or their parent or guardian must volunteer a minimum of five times in five different rodeo events or roles during the season. Additionally, they must compete in the finals for each event in which they want to qualify for year-end awards.
Sponsorship Requirements
Finals & Year-End Awards Eligibility:
Each contestant must secure a minimum of $200 in sponsorships to be eligible to participate in the CJCA Finals Rodeo and to qualify for year-end awards. Sponsorships for the 2026/2027 season are due by March 1, 2027. Both online sponsorship forms and printable forms will be available here.
Sweatshirt Eligibility:
One member sweatshirt is included for contestants who complete both their membership and the $200 sponsorship requirement by the March 1 deadline.
2026–27 CJCA Sweatshirts
One sweatshirt is included with membership for contestants who have completed their 2026–27 membership AND fulfilled the $200 sponsorship requirement.
Sweatshirt orders will close on December 24, 2026 at 8PM. We will notify members & families when the sweatshirts come in. We will hand them out at an upcoming rodeo.
