Youth Rodeo. Family. Tradition.
Meet the people who make CJCA more than just a rodeo.
Around the Arena is where we introduce you to the people behind CJCA. From our board and directors to the families, volunteers and others who help make each season possible, these are the people who make our association what it is.

Meet CJCA President Cody Bogan!
Hello CJCA families! My name is Cody Bogan, and I have the privilege of serving as your current California Junior Cowboys Association President.
My family’s involvement with CJCA started back in 2017 when we attended our first rodeo. At the time, a good friend of mine, Robert Lea, was serving as president of the association. Robert talked us into bringing our boys out and giving junior rodeo a try. Little did we know at the time just how big of a part CJCA would become in our family’s life.
We came back and rodeoed the full 2018 season, and by 2019, Robert had “suckered” me into becoming the 6 & Under Director. From there, one thing led to another, and our family has stayed involved with the association every year since. I believe this is now my fourth year serving as CJCA President, and it has truly been an honor and a privilege.
CJCA is more than just a place for kids to compete. It is a community of families who come together to support our young cowboys and cowgirls, teach them good sportsmanship, and give them opportunities to grow both inside and outside the arena. CJCA has grown into one of the largest junior rodeo associations on the West Coast, and that wouldn't be possible without our contestants, parents, directors, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone else who gives their time to make each rodeo happen.
Outside of CJCA, my family and I call Lemon Cove, California, home. For my day job, I work for CAL FIRE. When we're not working or rodeoing, we enjoy spending time together and taking advantage of everything the outdoors has to offer.
Some of the best memories our family has made over the years have come through CJCA. We've watched our boys grow up in this association, made lifelong friendships, and had the opportunity to meet some incredible families along the way. That is what makes CJCA special to me.
As we head into the 2026–2027 CJCA rodeo season, I want to welcome back all of our returning contestants and families and extend a special welcome to everyone joining us for the first time. I hope your family gets as much out of this association as ours has.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support CJCA and helps make it what it is today. I look forward to seeing everyone at the rodeos and having another great season together.
See you in the arena!
Cody Bogan
President
